About

I was born in Tunbridge Wells in 1942 and grew up in South Wales & south London.
I trained as a stained glass artist at Kingston School of Art & the Royal College of Art.
For many years I worked as a teacher, continuing to paint & to write, co-authoring several children’s books.
After taking early retirement I became ordained as an Anglican Priest.

My paintings divide into two categories – some worked directly from nature ( still lives & landscapes ) – but other work is influenced by the English visionary tradition. These latter paintings are often narrative pictures, but not illustrative & the narratives are often hard to define. They contain some received Christian symbolism, but other symbolism is more personal.

Gallery –   Most of the paintings are 5”x7” & are painted in acrylic onto gessoed board.
